STEP BY STEP
OPEN GROK
Go to grok.com or tap the Grok icon in the X app. Make sure you're on a Premium plan.
UPLOAD YOUR IMAGES
Click the image attachment button and upload 2-3 images into the chat. These are your characters — PFPs, memes, photos of your dog, whatever you want in the scene.
USE THE @IMAGE FUNCTION
In your message, reference the uploaded images with @image1 @image2 @image3 etc. This tells Grok which characters to use.
DESCRIBE THE SCENE
Tell Grok exactly what you want. The more specific and unhinged, the better. Grok is good at following detailed scene descriptions.
ITERATE AND REFINE
If it's not right, keep talking to Grok. Ask it to change the angle, add details, make it more dramatic. You can also re-upload the result and build on it.

PRO TIPS
- •Use clear, high-contrast images as inputs — Grok preserves faces and features better when the source is clean
- •Specify an art style — anime, photorealistic, oil painting, pixel art, comic book, watercolor — it makes a huge difference
- •Add lighting and mood to your prompt — “golden hour,” “neon-lit,” “dramatic shadows,” “foggy”
- •Describe camera angles — “wide shot,” “close-up,” “bird's eye view,” “dutch angle”
- •You can chain generations — take a result, upload it back as a new @image, and keep building on it
- •Grok can also generate videos — ask it to animate a scene or create a short clip from your image
